임지빈 작가의 에브리웨어 <EVERYWHERE> 프로젝트는 불특정 다수를 대상으로 항상 마주하는 일상적인 공간을 순간 미술관으로 바꾸는 게릴라성 전시입니다. 일부러 시간을 내어 미술관 또는 갤러리를 찾아가지 않아도 일상에서 언제든 마주할 수 있게 하는 ‘딜리버리 아트’를 하는 것이 이 프로젝트의 가장 중요한 점입니다. 작가는 치열하게 하루하루를 살아가고 있는 현대인을 베어벌룬을 이용하여 도시의 익숙한 풍경 속에 찌그러져 있는 모습으로 표현합니다. 어디서든 찌그러져 있는 모습은 보는 이들에게 웃음을 자아내게 합니다.
귀여운 베어벌룬은 얼굴이 없습니다. 우리가 익숙하게 지나쳤던 공간들에 몸을 구기고 끼여 있는 모습은 마치 지옥철에 몸을 끼어 하루를 시작하는 직장인들, 여유가 없는 매일, 시간에 쫓기는 오늘, 현대인과 닮았습니다. 빈 얼굴은 때때로 귀엽거나 행복하게, 또는 슬프거나 외롭게,
베어벌룬을 마주하는 사람들이 저마다 다른 표정으로 대입하고 자신을 투영함으로써 보다 많은 사람들이 공감할 수 있는 쉽고 친근한 작품을 만들고자 했습니다.
The Evryware project by Im Jibin is <EVERYWHERE> a guerrilla exhibition that transforms the everyday space that is always confronted by an unspecified number of people into an art gallery in an instant. The most important thing about this project is to do ‘delivery art’ that allows you to deliberately take the time to visit an art museum or gallery so that you can face it at any time in your daily life. The artist uses a bare balloon to portray a modern man who lives fiercely day in and day out as being squashed in the familiar landscape of the city. The squishy figure everywhere makes the viewer laugh.
The huge bearbricks show up everywhere in the world. The ‘Everywhere’ project is aimed at turning the light ordinary spaces into art.
The pretty bare balloons are faceless. The looks budging in our familiar spaces metaphor our contemporary people who start their another day budging in the overcrowded subway trains, being chased by time. The empty face represents people’s various facial
expressions: pretty and happy, sad and lonely, etc. The people may well sympathize with the faceless balloon by substituting their expressions into it. Namely, it was intended to appeal to as many as people easily and friendly.
